Stow Self Storage Limited
Last updated: 16.06.2026

1. Introduction

This CCTV Policy explains how Stow Self Storage Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”) uses closed- circuit television (CCTV) at our premises. This Policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which sets out how we process personal data more generally.

2. Purpose of CCTV

We operate CCTV systems for legitimate business purposes, including ensuring the safety and security of our customers, staff, and visitors, preventing and detecting crime such as theft, vandalism, and unauthorised access, protecting our premises and stored goods, assisting in the investigation of incidents and disputes, and supporting insurance claims and legal or regulatory requirements where necessary.

3. Scope of CCTV Coverage

CCTV cameras operate in and around our premises, including entrances, exits, customer access areas, corridors, loading bays, and external perimeter zones. CCTV is not used in areas where individuals have a higher expectation of privacy, such as toilets or changing areas. Appropriate signage is displayed at our premises to inform individuals that CCTV is in operation.

4. Lawful Basis for Processing

We process CCTV footage under our legitimate interests in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Our legitimate interests include protecting our property, staff, customers, and visitors, preventing and detecting crime, and ensuring the safe and secure operation of our business. We have carried out a balancing test and consider that CCTV is necessary and proportionate in light of these interests and does not override the rights and freedoms of individuals.

5. Access to CCTV Footage

Access to CCTV footage is strictly limited to authorised personnel within Stow Self Storage Limited. Footage may be reviewed where necessary for security monitoring, incident investigation, operational purposes, or dispute resolution. We may disclose CCTV footage where required to law enforcement authorities, regulatory bodies, insurers, legal advisors, or where otherwise required or permitted by law. All access is controlled and restricted to authorised individuals. Where practicable, access is recorded or logged.

6. Retention of CCTV Footage

CCTV footage is retained for up to 30 days, after which it is automatically deleted unless it is required for an ongoing investigation, legal claim, insurance matter, or regulatory requirement. Where footage is retained for such purposes, it is securely stored and deleted once no longer required.

7. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect CCTV footage against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or loss. Footage is stored securely, and access is restricted to authorised personnel only.

8. Your Rights

Under GDPR, individuals have rights in relation to personal data captured on CCTV, including the right to access their personal data. Access requests must be made in writing to: Stow Self Storage Limited Email: dataprotection@stow.ie Address: Unit B, Unit A1, Oakfield Industrial Estate, Ninth Lock Road, Clondalkin, Dublin 22, D22 XD28 We may require proof of identity before processing any request and may refuse or restrict access where disclosure would adversely affect the rights and freedoms of others or is otherwise exempt under data protection law.

9. Sharing CCTV Footage

We do not routinely share CCTV footage. Where necessary, CCTV footage may be shared with law enforcement agencies, insurers, legal advisors, or regulatory authorities. Any disclosure is made securely and only where lawful and necessary.

10. Relationship with Privacy Policy

This CCTV Policy forms part of our wider privacy framework and should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which contains further details on how we process personal data, your rights, and how to contact us. In the event of any inconsistency, the Privacy Policy will take precedence in relation to general data protection matters.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this CCTV Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on our website or otherwise made available where appropriate.
